Alexis Bennett

I was born and raised at 10,000 feet in elevation high in the rocky mountains.  There was no doubt that as I continued to grow so would my love for snow and the mountains.  Skiing by the age of three and competing soon after I looked up to my older brothers whom are both world class skiers for inspiration and support.  By the time I was fifteen I was one of thirty kids in the U.S. accepted to The Vail Valley Ski Academy where I received top notch training in alpine ski racing from the best coaches in the industry.  I spent four years at The Vail Valley Ski Academy in which I had numerous Junior Olympic Qualifications and ranked top twenty in the Nation.  As times changed so did my skiing and my brother introduced me to the world of free skiing.  I was soon committed to The U.S. Free Skiing Tour and ounce again on the heels of my older brother Cliff Bennett who has been #1 in the U.S. for this tour numerous times.  Jumping back and forth from “big mountain,” a judged free skiing event and “skier-cross,” which will be the newest event in the Winter Olympics in 2010, I soon found myself qualifying for the 2006 Jeep King of The Mountain World Championship Skier-Cross in which only eight women in the world qualified.  This year will be my second year on The U.S. Free Skiing tour and my first year on the skier-cross circuit and I have high hopes of  podium standings and an Olympic Qualification.  These are dreams that I am going to make reality and the 2007-2008 season will be when I prevail.
